The Sudden Storm, part 2

Once she knew that her cousins and their families were safe, Crow flew one circuit around the woods. Not seeing any storm damage there, she raced to the garden.

Her first stop was Mama Chipmunk’s house, where she banged on the door and shouted, “Stay inside!” The chipmunks would be carried away in this wind if they ventured out.

When Crow reached Rabbit’s, the door flew open, and she saw that Raccoon and Squirrel had come down from their high-up tree nests to shelter in the tea shop. And the smell of breakfast tea with milk drew Crow inside too.
