The Swimming Pool

The Gardener had left a large empty pot outside before the storm, and now it was full of rainwater, all the way to the brim. The morning after the thunderstorm, the weather was glorious: the air a tiny bit crisp and the sunshine finally not too hot.

One of the littlest chipmunks — the quiet, studious one — sat on the wall, as still as a statue, watching her cousins swim and splash in their impromptu pool.
