WHAT’S OUR SECRET?
Ease. Simplicity. Bliss.
You want magical stories that remind you of your favorite childhood books.
But you’re busy.
So we won’t suggest that you join a book club, or read nothing but children’s books, or even spend all your free time with your nose in a book, as you probably did when you were a kid. (But if you have the time and want to? Go for it! We, too, love to curl up on the sofa on a quiet, rainy Saturday — or on the porch swing on a warm, breezy morning — and read for an hour or three.)
And we won’t even send you a lengthy reading list.
What we will deliver, straight to your email inbox, is bite-sized stories — four tiny tales each week — full of tranquility, coziness, a sense of wonder and joy, a dash of poignancy, lush gardens, leafy woods, and gentle breezes that invite you to linger long past the single minute it takes to read each story.
SIMPLE, YET MAGICAL
What’s inside?
Like a consistent sprinkling of fairy dust — you’ll get four emailed stories each week, plus occasional surprises via email and 🐌 mail.
And when we say like to keep things simple, we mean it: each email contains a story (or two) and nothing more … there’s no extra fluff.
The fine print…
Our Read+Purr Story Club is a recurring monthly membership, at just $9/month.
Or pay for a full year ($99) and get one month free!
As an added bonus: On behalf of every new Club member, we’ll give 12 books to a child who needs them.

About the author
Jennifer McClain Singleton is an artist, writer, and gardener, and the founder of Read+Purr.
In her free time, you can usually find her snuggled inside (with a book and at least one cat, of course), or outside — in her garden, in the woods, or on a walk. Like her old friend Frederick 🐭, Jennifer collects images, stories, and snippets of nature … and passes them along to others in the form of tiny stories, notes to Read+Purr Club members, and occasional essays about books & reading, nature, magic, and mindfulness.
And because she believes everyone deserves to experience the joy, enchantment, and calm contentment that are conjured up when we read stories we love, she is also on a mission to give 10,000 books to children who need them.
REMEMBER …
“At the risk of sounding like a mad optimist: children’s fiction can reteach you how to read with an open heart.
When you read children’s books, you are given the space to read again as a child: to find your way back, back to the time when new discoveries came daily and when the world was colossal, before your imagination was trimmed and neatened, as if it were an optional extra.
But imagination is not and never has been optional: it is at the heart of everything.”
— Katherine Rundell, Why You Should Read Children’s Books, Even Though You Are So Old and Wise
