Downbound Books

by

Whenever we travel, I’m always on the lookout for the coziest, most delightful independent bookstores. Here, I’m pleased to introduce you to one of our favorite independent bookstores in Cincinnati. (Find more of our favorite cozy, independent bookstores here.)

The very carefully curated selection of fiction, nonfiction, local interest, cookbooks, and children’s books at Downbound Books is housed in a single room that, judging by the old sign outside, used to be a neighborhood café in Cincinnati’s Northside.

There are exposed brick walls, hardwood floors, spots to sit in several sunny windows, and nearly floor-to-ceiling shelves filled with so many wonderful selections that I easily found a dozen or so I would’ve liked to take home. Plus cards, puzzles, and a few gifty things made by local craftspeople.

This one is slightly off the beaten path, but we definitely recommend seeking it out if you’re in the area. It’s well worth a visit.
