The Very Rainy Day, part 3

Raccoon sat at her kitchen table, sipping a cup of coffee, and watching the rain pour down outside her cozy tree nest.

She was thinking about late summer turning to fall and contemplating a final warm-weather bowl of gazpacho, some nice herby focaccia, and maybe a batch of basil pesto to put away for later.

And the more she thought about it, the more she was convinced. She needed to harvest a few tomatoes, peppers, and herbs from the Gardener’s kitchen-garden pots. They were probably getting too soggy anyway, so she would in fact be doing the Gardener a favor.
