The Very Rainy Day, part 1

Old Possum was on his walk when it started to rain. He had, sadly, left his umbrella at home, and he was rather drenched by the time he reached Mouse’s house for their weekly visit.

Mouse opened the door to find Possum standing in a puddle on the stoop, rain sheeting down behind him. He quickly ushered his friend inside (Possum leaving wet pawprints everywhere he went) and sat him in front of the fire to dry off.

To help warm Possum’s insides, Mrs. Mouse pressed a cup of tea into his paws: hot, fragrant, and sweetened slightly with honey.
