The Nonstop Rain
It had been raining — pouring, really — for days, and Rabbit was feeling rather soggy.
Everyone was staying home so they wouldn’t get washed away, which of course meant no customers in her shop. But that, in turn, also meant Rabbit could keep the door closed and not worry about a waterfall running down the steps into the tearoom.
By dinnertime on the third day of nonstop rain, Rabbit had read two books.
Then, by mid-afternoon on the fourth day, the rain finally stopped; Raccoon arrived with a fresh batch of cupcakes; and Mama Chipmunk brought all her grandchildren for tea.
