Mid-morning and Mama Chipmunk, Raccoon, and Rabbit sat at Raccoon’s kitchen table. A platter of buttered toast was laid out, and they each had a mug of steaming coffee with fresh cream.

They were reviewing Raccoon’s lists. In addition to all the baking and cooking they would need to accomplish over the next several days, there was lots to gather, including the festive serving pieces from Old Possum’s hall closet, dried herbs, mountains of nuts, even a few ingredients from the human grocery.

As always, much depended on Squirrel being able to find all the acorns and walnuts he’d buried.
