The Downpour

by

On Day 22 of No Rain, Squirrel was gathering the mail when he spotted dark clouds piled on the horizon. And as he stood on the cottage porch, clutching postcards, a fierce wind howled through the trees.

Sensing what was surely — finally — coming, he shouted “Come quick!”

Rabbit and Raccoon both heard Squirrel’s shout and ran through the increasingly dark afternoon, arriving on the porch as the first raindrops splashed down.

From the safety of the dry porch, they all cheered as the sudden downpour drenched the front garden … while sipping the iced tea Raccoon had (thankfully) brought along.
