The Strawberry Blossoms, part 1

The very first thing Squirrel did after noticing the tiny white blossoms in the corner of the meadow was whoop with delight. 

 

And the very next thing he did was run to Rabbit’s burrow, burst through the front door, and — slightly breathless with excitement — shout a bit more loudly than necessary, “The wild strawberries are blooming!” 

 

Rabbit, and everyone else in the tea shop at that moment, stopped what they were doing, clapped their paws, and cheered. Mid-spring was everyone’s favorite — well, one of their many favorite seasons — precisely because of the strawberries.
