Slumber Parties, part 2

by

While her grandchildren enjoyed sleepovers at neighbors’ houses, Mama Chipmunk and her cousin had a long-overdue slumber party of their own.

In the late evening, they wandered through the woods and danced with hundreds of fireflies.

Back at home, they indulged in a sip (or three) of elderflower liqueur.

Then, for sleeping, they piled quilts and pillows on the living room floor while reminiscing about the pillow and blanket forts they had made at their grandparents’ house when they were little. And they stayed awake long into the night, giggling and talking in the dark.
