The Sketchbook

by

At her friend’s insistence, Rabbit left the tea shop in Raccoon’s capable hands for an hour and went outside.

After nestling a folding chair into the drifts of rustling leaves in the meadow, Rabbit pulled a sketchbook, several pencils, and a set of travel watercolors out of her basket.

And while she sketched a fall scene, coloring it with splashes of red, yellow, orange, green, and the brightest blue, Mama Chipmunk came outside to sit with her in the soft sunshine.
