Mr. Owl’s Holiday

by

It was nearly time for Mr. Owl to refresh his classroom for the new school year. (He was planning to hang new bunting; re-pot the windowsill plants; organize the bookshelves, the pencils, and his chalk collection; and bring in a plump new pouf for the reading corner.)

But, before tackling all that, he decided to fly away for a brief holiday. Mr. Owl was a small-town bird at heart, but he loved (in brief, infrequent bursts) the energy of the big city. And, importantly, he had friends there who knew all the best spots — and how to sneak in at night.
