The Book Fair (part 1)

by

Throughout the long spring, Mr. Owl had been gathering books. Nearly everyone gave him their spares they no longer had room for; the birds, coming home from long journeys, had each brought two or three stuffed in their backpacks; Squirrel delivered a few that he found on the porch table; and some, ordered especially for the occasion, arrived in the mail from far-away cities.

It was finally time for Mr. Owl’s end-of-the-school-year book fair.
