The Gloriously Breezy Day, part 4

by

It should’ve come as no surprise that nearly everyone wanted to be outside in the glorious almost-fall weather, not tucked away indoors. Which, although understandable, made for a very slow day at Rabbit’s tea shop. Such a slow day, in fact, that Rabbit closed early.

When Raccoon arrived with that day’s cranberry walnut scones and chocolate cookies, Rabbit made a pot of Earl Grey and the two friends went outside, where they drank tea, snacked on fresh scones slathered with honey butter, read books they’d pulled from Rabbit’s bookshelf, let the breeze ruffle their fur, and sat in companionable silence.
