The Gloriously Breezy Day, part 3

by

Early on that gloriously cool morning, Old Possum went for a walk in the woods.

He trundled along the woodland path, noting how many acorns and pinecones were forming on the trees. He stopped at Mouse’s for a cup of coffee and a chat. And then he walked back to his house, where he opened all the windows and sat in his comfiest chair to enjoy the breeze and sniff the air.

Some time later, Possum was startled awake. It was Mama Chipmunk at the door, as it turned out, carrying a container of freshly churned ice cream to share.
