Rabbit’s baby niece was (finally) juuuuust big enough to venture outside the nest.

So on a soft almost-fall evening, everyone gathered for Baby Hoppy’s first foraging lesson. Her mother and her Aunty Rabbit (plus Mama Chipmunk and Raccoon, who even brought coffee for everyone except the baby) watched carefully as she tested out her hopping skills, and they showed her how to find the tenderest patches of clover and wild violets.

Truth be told, Rabbit’s mind was already swirling with plans for teaching her niece how to harvest herbs and flowers, and thoughts of how marvelous it would be to have an assistant for her tea-making.
